Trio Pianistico di Bologna

Silvia Orlandi, Alberto Spinelli and Antonella Vegetti, former classmates of the secondary schools of the GB Martini Conservatory in Bologna, who met twenty years later at a class dinner, in 2013 formed the Piano Trio of Bologna.

By virtue of a particular complicity in the sign of music, matured together since the time of adolescence and the contribution of the different sensitivities and knowledge of each one, the Trio has reached a remarkable technical and expressive maturity.

The debut took place in Pracchia (Pistoia), in 2014, on the occasion of the Pracchia in Musica Festival. Since then, there have been numerous occasions to exhibit the six-hand repertoire, very rarely offered in the concert seasons.

The Trio has played on several shows and occasions. These include the Castello Sforzesco in Milan for the 2015 Expo, Wolfsburg Castle in Germany, San Giacomo Festival and season of the Circle of Music in Bologna, Reading and Conversation Circle of Parma, Villa Dolfi Ratta in San Lazzaro (Bologna), Piteglio House of Music (Pistoia), for the Verdi Off Festival in Parma, in an open-air concert in the famous Viale Ceccarini in Riccione (Rimini), in the Ridotto of the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, in Villa Premoli for the Cavaso Classica festival ( Treviso), at the Archiginnasio of Bologna for the Pianofortissimo review.

The repertoire of the Trio ranges from the eighteenth century to the composers of the twentieth century, alternating pieces written specifically for piano with six hands and transcriptions. While preferring the great classical authors (from Czerny to Rachmaninov), the Piano Trio of Bologna also frequents other repertoires, from jazz to high quality entertainment music, believing that the only necessary requirement for a song to turn on the attention of the three performers are the elegance of the writing, the beauty of the composition, the emotions it is capable of arousing.

Over the years, several composers have transcribed or created new pieces for the Piano Trio of Bologna which thus contributes to enriching the repertoire for this ensemble.
